A Potentially Traumatizing Day

June 4, Lucy had to get her hearing checked again. She failed the hearing test at the hospital twice. Well, the deal with the hearing test is that the baby has to be asleep very deeply for it to work well. I had to keep Lucy awake and hungry for about 2 hours before the test. Because I have worked for Dr. Beth Hudnall Stamm, I know not to call it a traumatic day, but rather a potentially traumatizing day.

This is me trying to record the date and time by having my cell phone in the shot.

Lucy was actually pretty mellow for most of the time of deprivation. I made a movie of her crying, but it's on my other computer.

When we got to the parking lot to go to the office, she knew there was something not nice coming.

It's all over now.

Basically, she didn't sleep well enough for the tests to be conclusive. Lucy also kind of sings to herself by making melodic sighs in her sleep. The Dr. said that she was having trouble reading the test because Lucy's noises kept showing up. The left ear should be fine, but the right ear is "borderline." We have another appointment in mid-July. Hopefully we'll know more then.
